Position: Truck Driver/Shipping & Receiving Clerk

 

Position Overview

Efficiently, lawfully, and safely operates a forklift, straight truck and other company vehicles to deliver or pick up parts, raw materials, equipment and finished goods for vendors, suppliers, off-site warehouses, etc.
Maintains company vehicles to ensure they are clean, orderly and in top operating condition by performing preventative maintenance as necessary.
Coordinates and plan deliveries and pick up parts as needed for day-to-day plant activity through the warehouse, receiving, and maintenance departments. 
Safely operates a stand-up or sit-down forklift and other material handling equipment efficiently in the movement and storage of materials.
Performs LP tank service on forklift and report any problems or necessary maintenance to the Maintenance Department.
Accurately operates scales to determine the correct weight and quantity of parts, ensuring the highest levels of inventory accuracy and disbursement of materials.
Safely handles and moves any containers of hazardous materials.
Notifies Supervisor of any problems with procedures or equipment in order to maintain the highest degree of safety, inventory accuracy and productivity.
Maintains a high awareness of personal safety at all times and follows all Minnesota and federal D.O.T. regulations.
Order packaging supplies as needed or tell purchasing agent.
Unloads product from common carrier, van lines or vendor trucks.
Ensures that quantities noted on packing slips are consistent with contents of container.
Matches purchase order numbers to container contents to ensure proper quantities of product have been received.
Receives products into inventory control system according to purchase order number in order to verify the receipt of product.
Moves products to requisitioning departments as required.
Prepares finished goods for shipment and ensures all necessary paperwork and labels are accurately completed.
Prepares and loads outbound work-in-process for delivery to vendors and/or customers.
Schedules carrier for shipments.

Education, Experience & Physical Requirements

High School graduate.
Experience with warehouse, material handling methods.
Must possess CDL.
Capable of lifting 75 pounds. Standing & walking majority of the time.
