SHIFT INSPECTOR (QA) NIGHT SHIFT
Position Overview
This is a second shift position working Monday to Thursday from 8:00pm to 6:30am. The Machine Parts Inspector will assess and maintain the quality of first articles, production operations, final inspections, evaluate and report conformance of vendor and finished product relative to established quality standards.
Responsibilities
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Conducts visual and dimensional inspections using precision measuring instruments to ensure quality of finished products.
- Uses approved inspection processes to confirm assigned products and parts meet specifications.
- Confirms and approves quality of finished parts.
- Makes recommendations on reworks.
- Documents measured results of machining operations.
- Prepares paperwork and reports documenting inspection findings.
- Extensive knowledge of inspection and measurement techniques and equipment.
- Extensive knowledge of CNC machining and machining processes.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office or similar software to prepare reports.
- Broad knowledge of inspection equipment including CMM setup and calibration.
- Run parts thru CMM and interpret results.
- Perform receiving, in process and final inspections.
- Perform first article inspections on complicated tight tolerance parts.
- Ability to multitask in a fast paced atmosphere.
- Maintain working area in a neat and orderly manor.
- Adheres to and promotes all company safety rules.
- Maintain effective working relationship with fellow employees.
- Perform other related duties as necessary.
Qualifications
High school education or equivalent. Post high school education in engineering, quality or machining. Blue print reading and GD&T understanding. ASQC certification desirable.
Basic computer skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
Payrate
From $28/Hr. to $32/Hr. Depending on Experience.
