ESTIMATOR

Position Overview

Deep knowledge of general machine shop practices including the capabilities of machine tools, especially CNC machining and turning centers.  Skilled in tooling, tool nomenclature, tool geometry, heat treating and material plating.  High-level knowledge of the machinability of ferrous and non-ferrous materials.  Able to accurately calculate burden rates and other overhead costs into quotations.  Knowledge of computers and computerized production management software. Coordinates production scheduling and inventory control functions by establishing and maintaining lines of communication internal to the company. Establishes and maintains a master production schedule that provides for the most efficient use of plant, inventory and human resources in support of company objectives.

Qualifications/Experience

Previous experience in a high-tech machining environment. Previous experience in an aerospace environment a plus.  Eight to ten years experience in the machine tool industry.

Responsibilities

Works with very little supervision to accomplish a project accurately and in the time allotted, in addition to the functions listed below.
Determine if customer requirements fit the capability of K&G Manufacturing.
Develop processes and sequence of operations.
Work closely with manufacturing engineering personnel for special processes & fixturing.
Accurately prepares quotations for precision machining.
Complete customer RFQ’s in a timely manner.
Determine any outside services needed and request quotes from vendor/partners for such services.
Meet and exceed customer satisfaction requirements.
Evaluate the effectiveness of manufacturing processes.
Establish and maintain working relationships with current and potential customers.
Assist in the manufacturing process as needed.
Maintain effective working relationships with fellow employees.
Perform other related duties as necessary.
