QUALITY ASSURANCE MANAGER

Position Overview

Assists in the establishment of quality standards and guidelines per ISO 9001:2015 & AS 9100D quality certification standards including piece-part inspection, SPC, calibration policies and procedures. Manages day-to-day activities of quality assurance department personnel ensuring adherence to the highest standards product and process quality.

Qualifications/Experience

High school graduate or equivalent. Two-year Technical College certificate in machine tool technology or equivalent. ASQC certification desired. 3-5 years experience in quality assurance in a machining environment. Familiar with ISO & AS quality certification standards.

Basic computer skills including MS Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

Provide work direction to QA department personnel ensuring that K&G quality standards are met by proper use of inspection procedures in support of quality assurance objectives.
Leads and motivates QA department employees by interpreting company policies and procedures by effectively solving interpersonal issues and assist employees in solving problems.
Provide performance management for department personnel.
Identify and provide necessary quality training programs for QA department and production employees.
Coordinates the inspection of WIP and finished goods inventories in support of customer quality requirements.
Performs quality audits as necessary to maintain or exceed customer quality requirements.
Assist in the establishment of vendor quality standards and conducts audits to ensure vendor quality standards are maintained or exceeded.
Prepares audit reports on a regular basis so company management is aware of causes of quality defects.
Coordinates activities of QA department with engineering and production departments to ensure the highest level of inter-departmental communication.
Maintains accurate budget records for QA department.
Performs other related duties as necessary.
